Nervous sweating is one of those conditions that people take for granted. They consider that because everyone experiences it now and then, it’s not a serious problem for chronic sufferers. However, for some people it’s a constant source of suffering because of the huge impact it can have on a person’s life when is a constant situation. In this article I’m going to be talking about some of the problems that nervous sweating can cause, as well as talking about the drastic measures some people go to dissolve it. Finally I’m going to link to a resource that can help people to sort out another sweating without going to extremes.
When people have chronic nervous sweating, they can find it taking over their life. Just a small sign of anxiety can cause sweating to occur, but this leads to its own problems. In today’s society, we are very concerned of hygiene, which is sensible measure. However, we have often associated sweating this with dirt, and so we see someone sweating we tend to form a negative opinion of them. In the case of another sweating, the sweat is not caused by dirt, but that is the impression it creates in others. This is compounded by the fact that nervous sweating can feed bacteria which produce body odour.
The end result of this is that sufferers can become isolated, separated from people who would judge them badly. This leads to loneliness and depression.
To combat these problems caused by nervous sweating, some people resort to drastic medical treatment. Because medical science does not fully understand why people sometimes sweat when they are nervous, they are unable to give a simple solution so instead resort to drastic treatments such as injecting toxins into the sweat glands, or even cutting the nerves which control them so that sweating cannot occur.
As bad as these solutions can seem, they’re not just harmful, they can even be ineffective. The reason why is because the body will seek to compensate when it is unable to sweat in one area, and will often secretes sweat in different areas of the body. Remember, sweating is a survival activity that lowers the body temperature when it’s too high, and is also used to eliminate toxins from the skin. This is why the body seeks to compensate for an inability to sweat in one area.
Because medicine is not currently capable of dealing with nervous sweating problems 100% effectively, I believe that it is always better to try a simple natural solution first, before resorting to surgery. This is not to say that Western medicine is bad, as some alternative health fans will claim, but rather I believe that it is best used in circumstances where nothing else will do. For most people, I think the natural remedies will be effective, but there may be some cases that don’t respond to them. In these cases, I recommend they start with the least invasive medical treatments first.
